Threading

A traditional Indian method of hair removal that some salons offer is threading. Using strings they twist in a pattern and use to pull unwanted hair out as the professionals who are doing threading. 

Laser Hair Removal

It generally requires four or more treatments 4-6 weeks apart as this is one of the longest-lasting methods. On dark hair, it can only be effective. 

Working to destroy the hair bulb is the laser beam or a light pulse. It can be used on many parts of the body where unwanted hair appears as the treatment can be expensive and sometimes painful. Select a doctor or technician who comes to be highly trained and knowledgeable to be sure.  

Electrolysis

Placing a tiny needle with an electric current in the hair follicle, electrolysis is done by a professional. For hair removal methods with electrolysis, there are two primary methods: galvanic and thermolytic. 

Chemically destroying the hair follicle is galvanic hair removal. 

Using heat to destroy the follicle is thermolytic removal.

In areas that you don’t want hair, spironolactone is a pill that may slow or reduce hair growth. It may actually stimulate growth there as it will not get rid of the hair on your scalp.  

For slowing facial hair growth in women, there is a prescription cream called Vaniqa that is approved by the FDA. It will not remove the hair as the cream slows growth. Twice a day you can apply it to the area. The fact is that hair then regrows once you stop the use of the cream.
