For common hair problems like damaged hair, hair fall or grey hair try making these hair oils at home with all-natural ingredients

  1. Amla Hair Oil

Our traditional ancient secret is using amla for beautiful hair. Amla oil conditions your hair, minimises hair loss and greying as it is abundantly rich in vitamin C. mix 120 grams of amla powder, 1 litre of water, and 250ml of coconut oil or sesame oil to make it at home.

Rich in Vitamin C, amla oil can prevent hair fall

 How to make the oil:

Combine about 100 grams of amla powder with water, taking a pan.

Until half the liquid is evaporated bring it to boil and simmer. In a container strain this amla concentrate. Then keep it aside. As the next step, you can mix coconut oil as also the remaining amla powder which is about 20 grams, and the amla concentrate that you have kept aside in another pan. Until all the water evaporates bring it to boil, reduce the flame and let the mixture simmer very slowly. You will see the oil will appear yellow and transparent after this is done. Strain the residual oil immediately and store it in a container or bottle away from direct sunlight once it's done.

  1. Bhringraj Oil

To rescue your hair here is another significant Ayurvedic remedy.

Bhringraj packs many hair benefits known as the King of herbs.

Bhringraj oil has a high specific gravity which makes it dense as explained by Dr. Deepali Bhardwaj. Helping in treating dry scalp simply means that it can easily penetrate the scalp. Regular massaging helps in deeper absorption and in activating the sebaceous glands as for dry hair and dandruff problems. Bhringraj oil can help in treating baldness as suggested by Dr. Vasant Lad in his book Ayurvedic Home Remedies.

Bringing more nutrients to support hair growth, massaging the oil on your scalp at bedtime helps in improving the blood circulation at the root of the hair. You would need a handful of Bhringraj leaves or 3 teaspoons of Bhringraj powder, one cup of coconut oil, and a teaspoon of fenugreek seeds to make this oil.

 How to make the oil:

Firstly, chop the leaves. Add the chopped leaves or the powder into the oil after heating a cup of coconut oil. For about five minutes heat the mixture. Then you can add the fenugreek seeds. Allow it to cool turning off the heat. Store it in the container after straining the mixture. For a nourished scalp apply the oil and massage gently.

For healthy hair, oil is the most important factor. It helps moisturise and nourish the scalp. Therefore, it can be used to cool and relax your scalp.

There are different kinds of oil and depending on your hair type and texture, you can use them according to your discretion. This then helps improve the condition of your hair. Rather than going after chemical shampoos, ayurvedic products are seen to be giving better results when taken into account.
