Hop a flight to Cozumel for a week-long resort stay for a fabulous vacation plan. While you recover from plastic surgery, enjoy poolside lounging, fine dining, and barefoot walks in the surf. 

You are right. You can get away from it all and also have your nose, breasts, face, or tummy done, as there are many cosmetic surgery clinics in Mexico, the Caribbean, and South America. If you are going to be in recovery for a while, why not convalesce in paradise as your friends won't bug you because they are hundreds of miles away. 

As Malcolm Paul, MD, president of the American Society for Aesthetic and Plastic Surgery says, making perfect sense is the allure of it. He however thinks it is a bad idea as it's a whole lot better to stay home. 

Cosmetic surgery is nothing like a spa treatment is what Paul argues. Involving real risks, it is real surgery. Often concerned about the people he says those who leave the US won’t be guaranteed the same medical standards as they have at the home. The doctor might not be equipped to deal with them if you were to have life-threatening complications during the operation.

A cosmetic surgery vacation might not be as much fun as you would expect besides the risks as Paul says. No doctor would tell you it's OK to splash in the ocean with bandages and stitches as you are supposed to avoid the sun after surgery even if you wanted to. 

Bargains Galore

Drawing people to foreign clinics is low costs. It can be seen that a surgeon in Manhattan thereby charges $5,000 for a nose job, as also one in Mexico is sure to charge $1,800. It is just not this procedure where fees differ greatly. In New York, a facelift may set you back $7,500. Whereas you can have it done for as little as $4,000 down in Mexico.

You must remember that a surgeon may be trained in surgery of the head and neck whereas they wouldn’t be qualified to operate on other parts of the body. Road to Recovery

Plan for a long enough stays if you do choose to travel for surgery. As Lattyak says, they should outline the expected recovery time in case of anyone doing the surgery. It is possible not to do this on a whim.
