What does it mean when you say the hair is growing slowly? It simply means that the scalp is not as healthy or in the best condition that it should be. What leads to unhealthy hair is that it is not in the naturally best condition such that the hair grows at the naturally optimum or fastest speed. 

This also intends to the fact that the hair could be falling faster than it can grow or replenish. It also means that hair is weak and unhealthy, splits, is brittle or breaks easily. Iron is important as it gets oxygen to the cells and hair follicles that are very important for healthy scalp and hair. The two things that zinc can do is to grow the bodies and repair the tissues like hair.

These can be got from taking supplements, or eating food like eggs, lean meat, fish, nuts, beans, soy stuff, bananas, seafood, spinach, peas, broccoli, whole grains, oranges, lemons, strawberries, kiwis, fortified foods, etc. 

Stick to fresh food and not canned or processed. Cook healthy way like steaming and grilling instead of deep-fry or fried. Doing it consistently gets the body the building blocks diet to grow hair long and fast. 

Drinking lots of water is another tip, as 8 glasses would be great and having 2-3 glasses first thing in the morning after you wake up can do wonders to the health. Water flushes out accumulated bacteria and toxins from the system. 

2) Lifestyle

Keeping your mental and physical health in tip-top condition is the best as mental health or emotional well being is vital, so stay positive. Quit smoking for a great healthy start, or at least work towards quitting the nasty self-destroying habit. As it is burning money, whereas there is no benefit at all.

Go easy on alcohol for heavy drinkers or regular party-goers . All the nags that happens to our bodies, like healing, growing, building, repairing, etc happens when we sleep well, so always get enough sleep. It will truly recharge us all around when we sleep 8 hours a day.

Instead of being used by our body systems to build healthy hair, this needs extra nutrients to sustain us.

To be true, stress is reported to be a major cause of hair loss as serious stress can cause our body system to stop producing hair and stunt hair growth. We will lose hair when we allow our stressful state to go on. To let our hair and hair grow back to normal this takes time and effort. 

A solid and quality 15-30 minutes chill out time works wonders and try not to let stress level go bad that you cannot get up or go into serious depression. It is best to seek professional advice from the doctor, in case the hair growth is stunted or disrupted or you experience hair loss due to a medical condition or supplement thorough treatment like chemotherapy.

Wearing a good wig or using fashionable scarves and bandanas is a good temporary idea while waiting for your hair to grow back for those who have gone through chemotherapy.

With consistent and tender loving care, your scalp and fragile hair will grow healthy. It is important to take good care of the crowning glory. It can affect the hair growth process when you do or not do it. 

All the treatments like perming, chemical treatment, chemically coloring hair, straightening, using too much and not friendly hair styling stuff, blow-drying, roughly tugging at the hair, untangling the hair when wet, combing or brushing the hair too much, using harmful hairbrushes or bristles, tying your hair up too tightly can be harmful to the hair.
