Know Your Skin Type

Starting with knowing what kind of skin you have is the right routine. By then you will know how to take care of it.

Flaky, scaly, or rough is dry skin.

Shiny, greasy, and having big pores is oily skin

Dry in some spots like cheeks and oily in others like forehead, nose, and chin is the combination skin.

Stinging, burning, or itching after you use some makeup or other products is sensitive skin.

Balanced, clear, and not sensitive is normal skin.

Cleaning Normal/Combo Skin

To wash your face don’t just grab whatever soap is in the shower or at the sink. Neither should you have to buy fancy, expensive products. The trick is in finding the skincare that works for you. With your fingertips apply a gentle cleanser or soap. It is better that you do not scrub your face. With plenty of warm water rinse and then pat dry. Try a different cleanser if your skin dries out or gets oily.

Cleaning Dry Skin

Use a gentle cleanser that doesn’t have alcohol or fragrances for this skin type. Drying out, even more, are those ingredients. Rinse with plenty of warm water after gently washing your skin. As it removes the natural oils from your face faster, don’t use hot water. To get rid of flaky skin cells try exfoliating once a week. Making your skin look cleaner and more even is this.

Cleaning Oily Skin

To wash your face, use an oil-free foaming cleanser. With plenty of warm water rinse your face. Be careful as it might irritate your skin whereas you may want to use a toner or astringent after washing. Making your face less shiny and helping keep skin clean are these products that can remove extra oil.

Cleaning Sensitive Skin

Rinse with warm water after you wash your face with a gentle cleanser. Gently pat dry and don’t rub your skin with a towel. Irritating sensitive skin will be an exfoliating process. Avoid products that have alcohol, soap, acid, or fragrance. Look on the label for calming ingredients similar to aloe, chamomile, green tea polyphenols, and oats instead. The happier your face may be as the fewer ingredients in a product.

Moisturize

All skin types need one every day as you may think you are too young to need moisturiser or your skin is too oily. When your skin is still damp from washing or rinsing to help seal in moisture, apply it. Find a moisturiser that’s lightweight and oil-free, so that it won’t block your pores if you have acne or your skin is oily.

Put On Sunscreen

Already having sunscreen in it is your moisturiser. Using separate protection is a good idea too. In only 15 minutes, the sun can damage your skin. It is always good to look for a sunscreen that has an SPF of at least 30 giving broad-spectrum protection. Even if it's not sunny and even if its cold, wear it every day. Every 2 hours reapply.

When Should You Wash?

Once a day is fine for most people as you can dry your skin by washing it too much. Rinse your face with lukewarm water in the morning. To pat it dry use a soft towel. Getting rid of the day’s dirt and makeup at might washing with a cleanser or gentle soap. You may want to wash your face afterward with a gentle cleanser if you exercise, play sports, or have PE. Clogging your pores and making acne worse is sweat.

Don't Wear Makeup To Bed

It can be tempting to go to bed without washing your face when you are tired. Clogging your pores and causing acne is what happens when you leave makeup on your skin. With a gentle cleanser or makeup remover wash it off. You can thereby use a soft washcloth as well as cotton pads. When your face is clean and you won’t be putting on makeup now is a good time to put it on if you use acne medicine.
