What Are The Best DIY Skin And Hair Care For Girls? - Part 2

Cracked, Ugly Feet

Problem:

You are still in sneakers even though it’s sandal season. You are hiding your dry, cracked heels from everyone.

Solution:

To heal scaly feet, your hand moisturiser may not be enough. This overnight treatment can be tried: smear your feet with a thick cream containing glycerine before bed. While you sleep, put on cotton socks and leave the cream on your feet. Through a dermatologist, you can seek stronger treatment.

Dry Skin

Problem:

Now rough, scaly and itchy is your once healthy glowing skin.

Solution:

It helps to turn down the heat. As the essential oils keep it moisturised, hot water can rob your skin of them. Keeping showers short is good. Don’t scrub and so use a gentle fragrance-free cleanser. Rub on an ointment or cream moisturiser that contains urea or lactic acid which will help your skin hold water and stay moist after your shower.

Hairy Legs

Problem:

The next day thick, dark hair is sprouting up again as you shave.

Solution:

Try waxing to keep hair off for longer. Whereas it lasts up to six weeks as it hurts a little and can irritate the skin. Once and for all be careful: if not used properly, hot wax can cause burns. So, prepare to wear jeans as you have to grow out your hair at least a quarter-inch before you wax. Also, try out room temperature wax.

The Pits!

Problem:

Everyone will see the ugly wet stains under your arms as you can’t raise your hand in class.

Solution:

Stopping some of that embarrassing wetness is an antiperspirant that will plug up your sweat ducts. To prevent your sweat from stinking too, choose a product that includes deodorant. After you get showered and your skin has dried, apply it in the morning. To help you cool down when you are hot, remember sweating is an important body function.

Warts

Problem:

To cover that ugly wart on your finger, you want to wear gloves in July.

Solution:

They are not as dangerous as warts may not be attractive. In time most will go away. Over-the-counter treatments are available if you are short on patience. Be sure to follow the directions carefully looking for products that contain salicylic acid as an active ingredient. Petroleum jelly protects the skin around the wart.

Dandruff

Problem:

Here you can’t wear black. On your shoulders, it shows off the embarrassing white flakes.

Solution:

Switch to a shampoo with ingredients like selenium sulphide, tar, or zinc pyrithione to control dandruff. To give it time to work, leave the shampoo in for 5 minutes. Until dandruff clears up, you may need to use it two or three times a week. If this doesn’t work see your doctor.

Split Ends

Problem:

As split ends still won’t go away, even though you pick at them all-day

Solution:

Over-styling comes getting right to the roots of split ends. Turn it off when your hair is dry and hold your blow dryer at least 6 inches away from your head. Thereby try not to blow dry every day. Which can damage hair avoid bleaching and straightening treatments. To keep your hair moisturised use a good conditioner. Get a haircut to get rid of split ends and don’t pull them.

Greasy Hair

Problem:

It looks wet when it's dry as your hair is so oily.

Solution:

Protect it from damage by using a gentle shampoo and light conditioner washing your hair every day to remove excess oil. As it will release more oil from your scalp don’t brush too much. Which can weigh hair down, even more, go lightly on the gels and other styling products.

Facial Moles

Problem:

Certain to notice the moles on your face is anyone who cast their eyes your way.

Solution:

Having between 10 and 40 moles are most people. It is observed that celebrities too have moles like Jessica Simpson and Angelina Jolie. You need to watch that yours doesn’t grow or change colour as moles are perfectly normal but they can turn cancerous. A dermatologist can remove it if your mole bothers you.

Lastly, Those DIY Beauty Fixes

To buy expensive beauty products, are you short of money? You can always use those available at home. Go out in the sun after you squeeze the lemon juice into your hair for a natural lightening effect. To make a natural skin exfoliator, mix 2 tablespoons, honey, with ½ cup rolled oats and ¼ cup plain yogurt. Dip into a can of the vegetable shortening used for baking and rub it on dry spots to moisturise dry elbows and knees.
