In the second part, we bring you more options to deal with ingrown hair. What are they? How are they helpful?
Using Tweezers
A sterile needle or tweezers can be used to pull the hair straight once any part of the hair appears above the skin line.
Once the hair is above the skin only do this. Causing an infection is digging into the skin to pull the hair out.
As this increases the chance that the hair will be ingrown again as it grows back, it is also important not to pluck their hair out. It is important to note when you are removing the hair again, here comes the inflamed area surrounding the hair needing time to heal completely.
Around the ingrown hair to prevent infection, use gentle soaps to clean areas. Helping remove dead skin cells is using natural exfoliates around the hair. Around the hair, exfoliating also helps clear the inflamed and irritated skin.

Switching to trimming instead are individuals who get ingrown hairs on their necks from shaving. To help prevent ingrown hairs, problematic pubic hairs can be cut short instead of removed entirely. To prevent these ingrown hairs, there are also a few products and treatments available.
People should see their doctor for other preventive measures, however, if the problem is persistent. Intense pulse light therapy or prescription creams to reduce hair growth are methods included. Helping decrease the risk of deeper infections and scarring are such preventive measures.

Also, an option for some is these products.

Another more permanent form of hair removal is this. Requiring several sessions, it is designed to destroy the root of the hair.
It should be discussed with a dermatologist before use as any of these methods may irritate the skin.
When To See A Doctor
Ingrown hairs are treated at home and do not require medical attention in most cases. When a doctor may need to be involved, there are a few times.
The bumps may continue to grow and fill with more pus if the ingrown hair becomes infected. Than ever before, they may be more painful, red, and irritated. Requiring medical treatment as well are people who experience ingrown hair over large areas.
The person may need to visit the doctor for treatment if an ingrown hair becomes infected. To use on the area, a doctor may prescribe antibiotic ointments, steroid creams, or medicated washes. A doctor may refer a person to a skin specialist in severe cases.
As they can cause dry skin and other side effects, use a topical treatment on the affected area only. A doctor may prescribe oral antibiotics for severe infections.
Whereas it is very persistent, sometimes an ingrown hair is not infected.
Doctors may prescribe retinoids in cases like these. More than just washing and exfoliating retinoid can help remove dead skin cells more quickly. Not for everyone is a retinoid. Before use, every medical treatment option should be discussed with a doctor or dermatologist.
